EQ5 mount

hi all

having a few teething issues with my EQ5 mount

Discovered when i took it out a while ago that it would only rotate in DEC a few times before the mount locked, and i could move it no more.

So i took it apart to realise a washer screw was turing with the mount, not good.

Not sure what to do about that.

Now i discover i cannot get the polar scope back in easily as the central screw part will not come all the way back in.

To cap it off, the lock off nut has now lost its plastic cap, so i need some super glue now to fix that back on.

no idea whether to laugh or cry!

Any one have any ideas about the washer screw, and why it turns with the mount?

It may help if you go to www.astronomyboy.com there are instructions on stripping the CG5 mount. I think it may be the same?

I used the astronomy boy instructions to strip my EQ5 with no problems.
