My Celestron CG-3 was missing Lat. Scale...

...So I made one up.

This is how I made one, in case someone is interested:

1) I had some problems getting a template for the lat scale, but after a bit of searching, I found one in the manual (the pdf).

2) A bit of cleaning up of the image, inverting it and making a negative of it.

3) Printing on a transparancy and exposing a piece of PCB on my home-made UV-box. There are tons of ways to do this on the cheap.

4) Etching the PCB. I did one fully etched, and one partially etched. The partially etched one looked nice, but didn't have enough contrast.

5) This is the final result. I took the fully etched one and painted it black. I them sanded it lightly, since the remaining copper is slightly protruding it gave it a nice effect. A final layer of clear laquer to preserve it, before cutting and filing it to size.
