Mag. -8 Iridium Flare

Recommended Posts

Such a clear night last night that I decided to observe through to Jupiter rising. Also forcast for 4.11 a.m. was a magnitude -8 Iridium flare nice and high in the west (Alt 67 degrees.) Although it was quite light at that time - all the stars had faded into the twilight and only Jupiter was visible - the Iridium flare was right on time and a beautiful sight even in almost daylight. Had it been dark this would have been really spectacular. Do they ever get any brighter that mag -8?
