ts hr eyepieces

Recommended Posts

hi

thinking of buying a telescope service hr eyepiece for my tal 100r f10 refractor the choice is between a 2.5 or a 4mm hr plossl for planetary work got a feeling the 2.5 plossl would be tooo much magnification...

the reports i have herd are good on these eyepieces so i would like to get it rite I live in north scotland so our skies are pretty clear (when its not raining) i have herd that you can push the tal to 300x but who knows.... can anybody help me on my final choice

regards chazbear:confused2:

I agree with Andrew - you will only very, very occasionally be able to use 300x in a 4" refractor (even though the TAL's are very good) so it would be a waste to have an eyepiece dedicated to that. If you are referring to the TS Planetary HR's, they are not plossls but a more sophisticated design using 6 elements. They perform better than plossls IMHO.
