ngc 2841 - old data, new process

Recommended Posts

I recently saw an image of flocculent galaxy ngc 2841 on astrobin, and remembered that I had imaged that galaxy four years earlier. At that time I used the ASI174MM-Cool as my main imaging camera. Large pixels can go deep, and the small sensor helps with framing. With much better processing tools at my disposal, I determined to create a new version. Especially NXT allowed me to go much, much deeper this time.

This time I was able to show the very weak halo that surrounds the galaxy. This is signal which my earlier process only hinted at.

Here's the old versioin, with capture details
