OK, I am only telling you this because the man will definitely *not* post... Logitech Quickcam pro 3000 webcam is one of the original cams, with the sony icx098bl/aq ccd sensor. Emminently suitable as-is for planetary and lunar, it is easily modded for long exposure. FLO has suitable 1.25" nosepieces for less than £12... what are you waiting for?

Ummm. There's a QC 4000 going for a silly price (£30+) on Ebay atm - if it is anyone here please be aware that the 4000 series had at least two different ccd sensors... the early ones had the Sony ICX098nn while the later ones had the Sharp LZ24BP chip. Also, some 4000 boards are not succeptible to being LE modded... No way to tell from the outside of the case either I am afraid... if you want this cam for planetary then fine (although the Sharp chip is noisier than the Sony) but do be aware that it's a lottery with the 4000 series.
