Binoculars 10x50 - request for advice

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I would like to ask the community of this forum for advice on binoculars.
I currently own an Opticron Oregon WA 10x50 which has a good review by Stephen Tonkin.
I'm quite happy with it, but would like something similar, just a bit more durable (waterproof).
So I'm looking for some waterproof 10x50 binoculars. Ideally with a weight of around 900g (I plan to hold the telescope in my hands while observing).
My budget is 150 - 230 €.

I am currently comparing 2 models that have good reviews from Stephen Tonkin:
1. Opticron Adventurer T WP 10x50. Review: https://binocularsky.com/reviews/Opticron_Adventurer_T_WP_10x50.pdf
2. BRESSER 10x50 Corvette - Waterproof. Review: https://www.skyatnightmagazine.com/reviews/binoculars/bresser-10x50-corvette-binoculars

The Opticron looks cool, but it does not have prisms in the cages and isn't filled with inert gas. The Bresser, on the other hand, has a smaller effective aperture (46mm vs 48.5mm) and is heavier (940g vs 759g).

Which of the above models would you choose and why?

I also really like the Opticron Imagic TGA WP 10x50, but I couldn't find it anywhere in EU eshops (I'm from Slovakia).
I was also considering the Nikon Action EX 10x50 CF WP, but its weight is 1020g.

Thank you in advance for your advice and opinions.

By the way, sorry for my English. I have translated this text from Slovak into English using machine translation (deepl).

I would go for the Imagic from Opticron. First Light Optics has them in stock at the moment. What you pay on import costs will more or less cancelled out by getting a reduction on the listed price as VAT won't be charged.
