Online star detecting site

Hello all. I was wondering if there was somehow, I could upload a file to the web, have it identify the stars on my photograph and send me a map? I have heard of it, but can't for the life of me think of how to get it done.

Hi Kris,

The easiest way no is to "join" the flicker Astrometry group and post the pictures throught that..

I know quite a few of us have been involved in submitting images for the alpha and beta testing of the engine (astrometry.net) that it uses to do the plate solving directly to Astrometry.net after getting signed up to the test program.
