argonaut
It was a good night tonight. Nice and clear and a very cool breeze.I thought I would go for my nemesis M101. Well,I can tick the box at last Not much to see apart form a misty patch with my GT100's,a little larger than I thought. While I was around the area I had a look at M51 and it's companion. I could see two distinct cores tonight.Carol in a earlier post mentioned M97,so I thought I would give it a go. It was not easy at all,but I observed a perfectly round fuzzy blob. I had to check with Stellarium to make sure I was seeing it. Thanks for that Carol,it was very nice to tick another box. I'm not sure about M108 though, not that I was looking for it. It would have been in the same field.M57 next, quite easy tonight even without averted vision. A good smoke ring was observed.I then got the 10x50's out to look at Zeta Lyra. It was quite a nice split. Then just sweeping the starfileds. I've now come in to warm up.Clear Skies.Glen.
