5mm EP recomendation

I have a 4.8mm Apogee but i find that when using it with a 2x barlow i have difficulty in getting a sharp image of saturn, is this normal? If not could someone recommend a good 5mm EP for use with a 250mm, 1200mm DOB.

That is pushing the scope to its limit. You might want to back off a little to a 7.5mm or 8mm with the Barlow. I'm a big fan of Antares Speers WALERs. Which come in 4.9mm and 7.5mm flavours.

The TS Planetary HR eyepieces are good for what they cost (around £54 each) and offer good eye relief and a moderately wide (60 degreee) field of view which helps with a dobsonian scope. You can get them here:

I have a William Optics SPL 6mm, and I love it. Feels really well built, and used it last night with my barlow to look at saturn. It really pushes the limits of my scope (SW 130PM), but the views it gave were wonderful.

Thanks for the advice, but first i am going to try a 15mm EP with two stacked 2x barlows to give x320 to see if i can get any better views of saturn that way. I think Warthog was right and i am being a bit too ambitious with a cheapo 4.8 ep plus barlow to give x500 in my light polluted location.
