I have an upcoming trip that will bring me through the province of San Juan, Argentina in mid-to-late August for 3 or 4 nights.  According to the light pollution maps, most of the province is classified as Bortle Class 1.   I live in Class 5 so I am ecstatic about the chance for some prime observing.  I picked up an Orion ShortTube 80 for the trip to pack in the carry-on bag.  Does anyone here know the lay of the land, and if so, could you recommend some specific locations for best viewing?  Any suggestions for DSOs to target?

Cheers.
