Pleaides and 1st session with ASI Air Mini

I picked up an ASIAir Mini just after Xmas but this week was the first chance I've had to use it in anger. It took a while to get it set up and working which meant I wasted some clear sky time but managed to get an hour or so of  data (14 x 300s subs) before the clouds rolled in. I also wanted to try guiding but I ran out of time to get that going.

I'm reasonablly pleased with the outcome but I think my processing skills have not done justice to the data. I processed this in DSS and GIMP but also had a go in SiriL which leads me to think there is more detail in the nebulosity than this image shows.  Now I have some reasonable data I think I will have a go with the Pixinsight trial and see how I get on with that. I'm steeling myself for the gradient of that learning curve!
