NexStar SLT 130

[Tasmania]

Hi there. I have been given a NexStar SLT 130 for Christmas. I am extremely new to all of this. I am located in Tasmania, Australia. (It's that island under the mainland of Australia).

I need as much help as possible. I can not see anything that I can make sense of in the eye piece.

Im sure it is a set up issue. Can anyone help?

Hi Tasmania

Can you make sense of distant landmarks viewed during the day ?

Try with the longest focal length eyepiece, the 25mm not the 9mm.

Can you reach focus ?

If not make sure any adapters shown in the instructions are fitted to the focuser.

The image may be inverted.

(It's that island under the mainland of Australia). That must be dark 😆

Thanks Michael. It's just a Tad frustrating. The moon appears as a small circle of white.

I'll keep trying to get it right.

Were you able to make sense of daytime landmarks ?

The moon should look like this with the 26mm eyepiece, if I've entered your scope details correctly:

Is that the same as your "small circle of white" ?

Or is it out of focus ?
