eq-5 polar led

Hello everyone,

does anyone know if there is a mod for the eq-5 polar led as it is so bright it is hard to see any stars for polar alignment.

I think it's easy to do - if you open up the top cover e.g. here

you can see the wires going to the LED, so it's easy to splice in a resistor to cut down the brightness. There's some discussion on it here

low-tech solution is to use a black marker pen to colour in the surface of the LED!
