davidc135
Did anyone else have last night's fine seeing? I spent some time on Atlas/Hercules and Janssen and enjoyed some of my most detailed views of the moon. The seeing easily supported a power of 430x using my 8.5'' f7.5 Dob, a 2x Barlow and a 7.5mm Plossl. The clefts in Atlas and the central hills of Hercules stood out as did a scattering of (I think) 11/2 to 2km hills and craterlets around the rilles of south Janssen. I'd hoped for just as good a view of Mars but as it moved clear of a tree so did the clouds thicken to bring the session to an end. David
