Comment question

was sitting out on my porch Early this morning, and was looking  at the Eastern  part of  the sky, saw an object 

shoot across the Eastern part of the sky, not sure if it was a comment, or a  shooting  Star 

it shot so fast across the sky,I could not tell what I might have saw.

Nope, this is a "comment"!

Comets move very, very slowly across the sky and most are dim, very dim. Meteors (shooting stars) tend to be quite bright and move very fast.

It sounds very likely. We are in the middle of the Aurigid meteor shower right now, peaking on 1 September.
