Deep Sky - paper prints

Hey guys, 

Just sharing with you my satisfaction and two recommendations.  This is my first large paper print (60*40cm)

Recommendation 1 : print and FRAME your pictures! I am AMAZED by how nice it looks. This one was just a test run to see if it was worth it and hell yes it is!

Recommendation 2 : get it done by a pro. This was done by a local guy in Poole (Towngate Gallery & Framing) and I do not care what vistaprint or the like says, the extra money (which is really not that much extra actually, a few %) is absolutely worth spending.

Totally agree!  I use a professional photography studio for my prints. Vistaprint are great for business cards, letter heads and leaflets but photo printing deserves better.

That looks good.

I've started doing my own prints with an Epson 15000 ink tank printer. The fact that it uses ink bottles rather than cartridges makes it much, much cheaper to run. I've found that I can quite easily beat the standard I was getting from commercial printers because astrophotos are quite unlike the pictures they are used to receiving. When I do my own, I make a small test print, adjust the image and try again before doing a big one (up to  extended A3.)
