Sky watcher 180 Mak-Pro with SBIG

I have a 180 Mak-Pro and 80 ED that I use with my SBIG ST-4000XCM. The camera works fine on the smaller 80mm ED. However, on the 180 Mak the self-guider chip doesn't seem to be in the optical path. Has anyone else run into this type of problem? Remedies? Thanks.. Rob
