Checking collimation on laser collimator

Recommended Posts

OK I'm new to collimation but I've found the easiest way to check your laser is in collimation is pop into your focuser and just kiss up tight the two screws ,check there is no slop but you can turn the laser, looking into the front of your scope at the laser dot revolve the laser if you dot stays bang on position its good to go, if your dot wounders your laser is off centre and needs collimation. Simple but quick check.

I use the Altair self centering eyepiece holder for my laser and only use the Barlowed laser now as this has been proven to more accurate. I always collimate with my sight tube and Cheshire and use the laser for a quick check on site before observing.
