M31 - First Light with ASIAir Plus

After nearly 3 weeks since it arrived from FLO, I finally had a clear'ish night last night to try out the ASIAir Plus.

I've always used a laptop before, so this was my first foray into the ASIAir. I had done a trial setup in the house to make things a little easier when the clouds cleared and the initial setup was painless. Polar Alignment went smoothly, as did the target acquisition. It was also the first time I've used the ZWO EAF and even that went with a hitch.

As this was the first time with this setup, I wasn't too worried about the results, so long as I actually got some results!

So I set up on M31 and got 94 minutes on it in total before clouds interrupted that area of the sky. I also had a go at M45 and M42 but they didn't have the integration time before either clouds or trees got in the way and are too noisy to work with at the moment. At least is gave me practice as setting up the plans and making sure the EAF works on a new target.

The rest of the kit was: HEQ5, Evostar 80ED DS Pro with 0.85 FR/FF, ASI294MC Pro, guided.

I used 47 x 45s Subs and 57x60s Subs, with Darks, Flats & Dark-Flats. Stacked in DSS & processed in PI. Overall I'm pleased with the result, it's most detailed M31 I have to date, I just need more time with ASIAir to get used to it.
