Simon Pepper
Hi all Tried to bag 67p last night and thought it was going well till the stack and stretch! Any ideas what's caused the nucleus to do this? This was 30x60s with a UV/IR Baadar filter. Since adding that to my OTA I have had nothing but issues! Thanks Edited November 12, 2021 by Simon Pepper
GalaxyGael
How are you doing the alignment for the integration, is it based on the stars? Stacking comets images can be problematic if both the stars and comet are integrated over a significant period where the comet moves faster than the stars. Astropixel processor and now DSs I believe, have comet registration options to ignore stars during stacking and this avoids the pixels of the comet being rejected from star alignment and integration algorithms. I assume PI has a similar function? The data looks like the result of a rejection algorithm.
Simon Pepper
Hi, Oh I see I used DSS but I never saw the comet option. Let me run it again now using that option to see how it comes out. Thank you
