Sony just announced that they will start production of a UV sensitive cmos chip. I just wondered if this can have any applications in amateur AP.

I'd say very limited usage - maybe Venus UV imaging to capture cloud formations, but that is about all I can think of.

Atmosphere is not very transparent in UV part of spectrum, so faint UV signal is not very interesting.
