strange fading lines in my images

Recommended Posts

Had my second reasonably successful session on Tuesday night but ran into this issue which I never saw on any subs before in testing the camera out- these strange short parallel paired dark fat lines across the frame.  They seemed to fade out half way through the 2 hrs of capturing and were in the same position on all filters. The camera is a QSI583, 5min exposures. I couldn't find anything searching so does anyone know what could have caused them? They aren't on the flats so don't calibrate out unfortunately. I'm wondering if it could have been something to do with light pollution which is very bad round here- the scope started pointing quite close to a very bright security flood light and over the 2 hrs panned away from it- that's all I can think but then why would that produce dark lines?

Thanks Mark

Didn't help as much as I thought it would........ :-<

Here's a section of that sub:

These appear to be blocks of pixels that are darker than the surroundings, so I don't think it's light pollution.

Another manifestation of "banding" ?

Thanks for taking a look Michael. There does seem to be a pattern to them vertically and horizontally. As it doesn’t appear to be a common issue and as i didn’t see it in my other testing with the camera i’m inclined to dismiss it as an oddity and fingers crossed it doesn’t reoccur. Plenty of other issues to resolve though

cheers,

Mark
