Orion Scopes

Are there two telescope companies called Orion?  There seems to be one called Orion Telescopes and Binoculars which I think is an American company and another one called Orion Optics UK. Are they connected in any way?

Yes and No. Yes, there are two Orions, and no, they're not connected.

No. Orion telescopes is an importer of American / Chinese stuff, Orion Optics UK (OOUK) make their own telescopes, mostly high end, and are not known for the standard of their customer service. Or perhaps are known but for the wrong reasons.
