looking through a different scope

I was using a skywatcher MAK 102EQ2 the other night. This weekend I fly to Scotland where my father has a konus motor 500. As a complete novice would I notice any differences between the two?

Probably the biggest difference will be the smaller size and wider field of view of the image in the Konus for the same size EP. Your Mak has a focal length longer 2 1/2 times which gives a higher magnification.

I think you will still prefer your Mak as the stars will be sharper. The slightly bigger aperture of the Konus should not have that much of an effect.
