IC443 - Jellyfish Nebula

Recommended Posts

This is possibly my last nebula image of the season but I managed over 3 hours last night.

This is 29x360s subs (after ditching some subs for high cloud towards the end of the session) at 120 gain, 30 offset at -10°C with a ASI294MC Pro and a L-eXtreme filter.

It was taken using an Evostar 100ED DS Pro on an EQ5 mount, guided with PHD2 and using ATP.

I made a slight error as I took flats & dark flats for this one, only to discover that I took them at a gain of 300 and I had changed the setup on the scope before I realised, so it's stacked with only a master dark. Although it's come out okay.

C&C's welcomed, as always.

Below is my last attempt at this target, from 11th February, using the same setup, only with a modded Canon EOS 1300D and no filter. Apart from it being rotated 180°, there's quite an improvement in the quality between then & now. :D
