New here. First moon image I've ever done.

Well not really the first one. The first one I ever done was blurry. But this one was the next one and it turned out ok. I don't think the focus is great when you zoom in, but no matter.

Single shot with Canon 600d on a Celestron 5 inch schimdt-cass.

Hi and welcome to SGL.

Nice moon image. I think that your focus is just fine. At these magnifications, atmosphere is starting to show considerably and it will blur your shots. Either do bunch of shots and select clearest one (atmosphere changes from instant to instant) - or consider doing lucky imaging approach (look it up - it is technique when you record video - or rather large sequence of frames and software select the best among them and forms image out of them - there is a bit of processing involved on your part - but nothing that can't be learned).

Hi, thanks. Yes my first image was definitely ruined by atmosphere. I just kept taking pics.

I have heard of the technique but not read up about it much. I will hopefully get trying it out soon if the skies stay clear.

Here's a few other shots from last night...
