Dark Darks

Hi All

I'm just running a set of darks off at -10 and 180 second, but I've noticed that he occasional one is coming out darker than the rest of them.  See below image where the first and third image are darker.  Does this pose a problem when creating a master dark, should they be deleted and reshot are is it normal and all is a-ok?

Do they measure differently? They should be the same but for random noise.

Please see the attached images, I think they measure different but could be looking at the wrong thing, whats your thought's?

They look different but without the standard deviation can't  be sure.

I would try running another set. Ensure no light leaks and I would add a delay between them say 20 s to ensure the chip stabilises between images. Regards Andrew

Atiks usually come with a metal chip window cover. I do my darks off-scope with this cover on because I find excluding all light remarkably difficult. As Andrew says, a delay between subs would be a good idea too.

While I do mine on scope I have a blank "shutter" in the filter wheel and I take them at night in a dark observatory with the roof shut.
