15x70's and 10x50's...what can you see?

Recommended Posts

I'm considering making a binos purchase and I live in a light polluted area. There are good skies some 20

miles away. I wanted to pick the brain of some of you who know.

The questions are:

What can those of you with 15x70's see in the city ie. the Andromeda galaxy, globular cluters, open clusters

like the Beehive or M6 and M7  near the "hook" of Scorpius, and comets like Neowise.

Now how well can you see the *same* objects in the country, at dark sky sights?

Ditto the 10x50's?

If you only have one or the other pair please weigh in just the same. If the 15x70's can really see things in the

city I'm thinking of getting a pair. If not, I may just go with a pair of cheaper 12x60's

What are your thoughts?

thanks in advance,

Don.
