AZ-GTi not powering up

Hello

I updated my AZ-GTi firmware from v3.16 to v3.20.

The updated was done using Motor controller v1.74 and instructed to turn off power after 100% completed.

When turning it back on there was no syscan ssid showing in the wifi network, looked at my mount and no red LED power light.

I was using a 12v power pack, this has been used before. I tried 8 AA batteries 12.1v output to rule out a faulty power pack, still no power to the mount.

The AZ-GTi has had very little use and was working okay just prior to the firmware update using Syscan Pro for Windows and controlling the mount (firmware v3.16)

Any ideas what going on.

Whilst it would be possible for an update to fail and prevent communication with handsets or wifi etc, I can't see how it would kill a mounts power.  There have been a few recent cases where updating the firmware on a handset or on a motor board has resulted in communication errors, but the mount still powered up.  On a couple of these an EQDir cable had been plugged into the wrong port and a new PIC microcontroller had to be programmed to replace the damaged one.  Assuming you had the handset in the correct port this shouldn't be the case.

Maybe you need to update the handset firmware as well ?

Just searched for similar issues and it seems that updates can fail - but are fixable https://stargazerslounge.com/topic/323595-az-gti-stuck-in-firmware-update-mode/

Thanks malc-c.

The AZ-GTi does not have a handset although t is optional if required.

All firmware is done over wifi and using a tablet/phone app to control the mount.

Its a mystery why it  won't turn back on.

I have read the link, I also had the stuck in firmware update also. Unable to update using desktop PC & 2 x surface pro 4's.

I managed to overcome that issue by using an old windows HTPC.

Fortunately I did contact Tasco sales Australia with this power issue, it turns out the mount is still under its 5 year warranty and will take a look at it.

Cheers
