Deep Sky Stacker Question

Recommended Posts

After I stack one of my colour channels I noticed the final image looks a bit blurry, like its out of focus.

The original image looks a bit sharper. I loaded the processed image into PixInsight and the data looks good.

Is this because the processed shot is shown in it's linear format or is there a process setting I am doing wrong?

I am stacking 15 Lights, 38 Darks, 25 Flats and 20 Dark Flats for the BLUE channel.

Below is a snippit of the image before processing (lighter) and after processing (darker).

Thanks!

Have a look at Siril stacking. Ive never been too happy with the DSS stacks I get. They always seem a bit softer and 'smeared'.

Have used PI a few times and its far superior.
I recently started using Siril (free) and it does a better job than DSS for me.
