First attempt at a Sombrero

Hi All

I was aiming to image the Needle Galaxy last night but Moonlight made it too difficult for me to jump to it (not many bright stars in that are at the best of times).

So I thought I'd have a stab at M104 - my favourite Galaxy (I've got a poster of it in the Observatory).

Its relatively easy to find with its own little set of pointers to the final site.

Got just under an hour of data but I've learned to be a bit picky with the raw data so ended up only choosing 38 x 1 minutes of data plus 3 darks.

Kit was my trusty Esprit 100 and my tired old Olympus E420 (I've just realised it's 14 years old !!).

Its a bit grainy but I can see its dust lane which I am pleased with.
