I spent an absorbing evening last night getting to grips with imaging using my pentax ist DS and the new Celestron C6S. I coupled the camera to the back with a meade F3.3 reducer and 1 extension tube. took several bracketed exposures of the Orion Nebula and Pleides. Overall I am please with this first attept at imaging with a DSLR, albeit an unmodifed camera, but the results were better than I expected first time out. Looks like the polar alignment may have been a bit off, so I need to be more careful setting up next time.
