12 inch short focal length Dobsonian.

I have been interested in a larger aperture Dobsonian recently. Perhaps a 12 inch diameter mirror. Thinking that it would be for widefield low power viewing. Also a more manageable shorter tube length. So F 4 or 4.5?

What would I expect to see. How would it perform? Any comments, experience or advice. Up to now I have had it in my mind that smaller scopes are the better option as I get older. But I'm not going to continue entertaining these thoughts.

I have an 8 inch which I keep in Dorset. If I were to upgrade,  I may aswell go to 12 as 10 inch would not be a great improvement over the 8.

But I would hate to not to have tried a larger scope.
