Milky Way with my Nifty Fifty Lens Canon

Recommended Posts

Milky Way With faint Meteor, Plane Fly Passed and bright Star *Jupiter*,was taken a few weeks ago before the moon came up. Edited by Luminar 3 and in PNG Format, Single photo. Setting is at....60 seconds, ISO at 800 and f2.8 50mm nifty fifty with star tracker. i was surprised to see that the nifty fifty lens did a very good job on stars.

Love 50mm lens Milky Way shots. Take a few more per session and stack if you want to remove the plane + satellite  trails (although I quite them like this image!) and it would help in being able to control the purple stars easier too.

Great color in the nebulosity -- but, um, are there really that many purple stars? (Spoiler: There are not 🙂 ) If you could remove the stars (e.g. starnet++) and process the nebulosity separately for this excellent result*, then add the stars back in, it would be even better. I'm totally unfamiliar with Luminar; would your workflow allow that kind of manipulation? Also, detail and your composition rock as well.

*Or you could remove the stars from your final result here, grab them from your original image before much processing, and stick them back in that way.
