Issue with NEQ6 slewing

I have been using the NEQ6 Pro mount in my observatory for several years, but have just had an issue that has completely baffled me. My usual procedure to set up is to slew to a star in Cartes du Ciel and sync on it before slewing off to wherever I want to go. Last night, I slewed to Vega, hit sync as usual, and then tried to slew to M13. The mount didn't move, and the mount handset flashed the message below horizon!! I checked all the co-ordinates etc. and tried again to no avail. After several hours of this I eventually had to give up, and have spent the day on it again today. I have checked and double checked the time, date, latitude and longitude etc. in the handset and the skychart over and over again, and it is fine. The mount will slew to anything in the skychart as long as I don't sync- as soon as I hit sync everything is apparently below the horizon, yet I can do a star alignment through the handset with no issues. I have checked the NEQ6 in the other observatory and that is working fine. I am at my wits' end with this now and would greatly appreciate any advice.

I seem to remember having a problem like this some time ago and it turned out to be the eqmod cable (that's if you are using eqmod of course!). If you are using eqmod can you uninstall/reinstall it? Just a thought.
