Observatory Maintenance & Repairs

Carbon Brush

Since sorting out my shed about 11 years ago, I have been wondering why people stand outside, having to set up and dismantle each time out.

Now I am beginning to understand.

Yesterday, in the strong wind, I was fixing a recently found floor issue.
I was jacking and levering the shed to gain the extra inch of access, but could not roll the roof off to reduce weight because of the risk of it flying away.

This made me notice a degrading roof runner.
Today it is raining. The runner can wait.

Still, Apart from wood preservative, the shed did not need any attention for the first 10 years so I shouldn't complain.

I shall give mine a coat or two of preservative this year, it's beginning to look like it needs it.  But that's a minor issue, I have several other things to sort out first.
