In need of some advice on equipment

I need some advice on what kind of equipment is best. I have a beginner telescope and have done well with it. Looking to now find something with better abilities and can help me get some good pictures.

well, welcome to SGL,  my name is sunshine (handle), now that i've introduced myself i'll ask you what telescope have you owned?, what sort of observing have you enjoyed and, what kind of astro photography are you looking to get into because equipment varies for different types of photography.

I just had a cheapy Meade. I have a DSLR cannon camera and am looking to get into some nice pictures of the moon to start with. My uncle was very big into astroid occultations. At some point it would really like to do that. In four years an astroid that he helped with is coming back around and it would mean alot if I could see it.
