Rubberised pads and heat problem

Recommended Posts

Yet another problem. My binoculars have rubberised grips and due to the ambient heat where I live they have started to crack up. I tried contacting Celestron many moons ago to try and source new pads but got no response. I also have a Canon 75 to 300mm lens and the rubber grip on the zoom barrel is going the same way. Now these items are not left out in the sun or left in the heat of the car, so is there anything I can do to stop these rubber parts cracking up.
