Screen Magnifiers?

Recommended Posts

I use a basic Fuji Mirrorless camera that only has x5 screen magnification. It's fine on a telescope with a bathinov mask but focusing can be a bit tricky with wide field lenses.

Has anyone used a loupe or magnifier? I'm thinking of something around x2 or x3. Is a full screen one better than a magnifying glass type?

You'll find that a loupe or any magnifier wont be too useful on a LCD screen.

For wide angle shots, center a bright near by star and do a few to few tens second exposure with the bahnitov mask and inspect the focus, adjusting as needed by zooming in on the brightest star. When you're happy with the test exposures, take your subs mask free.
