SharpCap for Polar Alignment

Hi everyone, i am currently using an EQ3 Goto Mount with Synscan. Im planning to purchase SharpCap Pro for imaging purposes. Im going to use sharpcap for my guidescope which is attached with my ASI120MC. I would like to ask is it possible for SharpCap to perform Polar Alignment as Polaris is hardly visible here in Malaysia and will the Pro features work with my guidecam? Thanks

Hi,  it will work fine with the asi120mc. You'll have to get the mount/scope pointed around the celestial pole with about a 5 degree difference, more than that and it gets a hard time solving.  

Sharpcap is a very good program, i recommend that you use the free version first and see if it will solve around your field of view. with it you can check how good is your polar alignment, with the paid version you'll get the instructions to where to move and the amount of movement.
