ICC color profile support in your browser

Recommended Posts

After we go to all the trouble of tweaking the color in our images, it's a shame that people viewing them in their web browser are not seeing the same colors.

Well, I just read that firefox v3 has an option to use the icc color profile one can embed in the jpeg images to display the correct colors.

It's disabled by default, but there's an easy option to enable it.

Check it out in the post on Neil Fleming's site:

IE7 doesn't support it, but the latest Safari does.

Cheers,

John

The main thing is in calibrating your monitor in the first place as opposed to running ICC profiles.

Its something I did due to my interest in photography, I noticed my images where at that time lighter than others.

It doesnt take to long to do and can be done using adobe gamma if you have photoshop.

If not then go to the page below and follow the instructions.

Also any colour tint to the whites can be taken out using your video cards adjustment's, just work on one channel at a time.

I have to admit the process leaves my monitor slightly too bright for me, so I just knock back the contrast and brightness a touch to accomodate.
