TS UWAN 16mm/82°

Is this a bargain in an ST80 / ST102?

https://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p8990_TS-Optics-Optics-1-25--Ultra-Wide-Angle-Eyepiece-UWAN-16mm---82--field-of-view.html

Does anyone have experience of these in short fast fracs? Or would I be better off with an ES 14/82? The idea is to use it as the finder eyepiece in my rich field scope, giving about a 3mm exit pupil and about 3° field of view. My current 24mm eyepiece has much too poor contrast under city skies, and I also am not certain my pupils dilate to 5mm anyway (too many peripheral bright sources around).

Hi Agnes,

I have the same eyepiece (it's made by Kunming United Optics) in a previous incarnation: https://www.robtics.nl/index.php?cPath=28_46_415&osCsid=d6eatb2u4hro96f3b5ch0vkr14

It's a very good eyepiece and works really well at f/5.

Optically, the TS is the same. The appearance is different though. Mine and some other clones like the William Optics UWAN version have a twist-up eyecup. I actually like that a lot. Very comfortable.

At €99.90 the eyepiece is a bargain indeed.
