eqdir cable coming tomorrow so what software do i need

Hi aa above do i just need to download eqmod or is there anything else? plus i have sharpcap phd2 and apt do i just start with sharpcap for polar alignment then switch to apt or do i have to have phd2 running in on a 2nd tab thanks

You will need ASCOM in addition to EQMOD. PHD talks to your mount via EQMOD/ASCOM.

Beyond that, I'm sure others can answer better than I.
