brrttpaul
Hi guys I done the pacman nebula the other night in Ha Oi and Sii, I have the three images that were stacked separately and ready to combine them. Do I do a noise reduction on all three images first before combing them, and do I use the LRGB combination red being S, green being Ha, and blue being Oi, Im trying to get to the colour that I have so often seen where it is more blue and gold or yellow, but not sure how i go about that in PI
drjolo
You can do noise reduction on separate channels, because most probably each channel requires other reduction amount. And for stacking and processing there are many techniques and workflows. You can stack them as you wrote with HST mapping, and then adjust color mapping for example according to this tutorial http://bf-astro.com/hubblep.htm
