HEQ5 or AZ-EQ-5 for imaging

I'm upgrading my mount for imaging with 80mm triplet. What do you think HEQ5 or AZ-EQ-5 for imaging?

I need advice please.

Are you wanting just to do imaging? Is so, I don't see the point of buying the AZ-EQ-5 as you would only be using the EQ mode anyway. Not sure if the HEQ5 has better tracking, but it is a few hundred pound cheaper, and has the same load capacity as the AZ-EQ-5.

Thanks! The price difference is not huge. With HEQ5 belt mod I believe they'll be similar priced in the end.

What bothers me is the reports of wobble/play in axis on the AZ-EQ5...

According to FLO the AZ-EQ5 can support 15kg for imaging while the HEQ5 is 11kg. Don't know if they have lifted this directly from manufacturer's description or through testing. If true that may make the difference I guess..

If it was me, I would always go for the most modern one if prices and feedback are good.

I'm not sure. The HEQ5 is time tested and proven.
