I've just found this... http://astro.ukho.gov.uk/nao/online/, specifically this condensed representation of moon phase, transit, daylight hours, etc... for example, the black bars show when the moon is below the horizon at night.

These diagrams show Sun rise/set, Moon rise/set, the start and end of both nautical and astronomical twilights, Moon phases and declination at transit and the local sidereal time near midnight for one calendar month. They are intended to assist astronomers in planning and scheduling observing runs.

They are produced for certain locations only but probably accurate enough for amateur use to within a couple of degrees. Does anyone already use these? Seem like a useful thing to have up on an observatory wall.
