The ellusive Perseids - saw many, captured nil

Recommended Posts

Set my camera up on 30 second exposures around 11pm last night in the hope of capturing a Perseid together with the Milky Way, it was not to be :hmh:

Couple of interesting shots (well they are to me) showing what I assume are satellites flaring low down on the horizon although a check on Heavens Above revealed nothing.

Would appreciate any comments.

This first shot shows 2 simultaneously flaring. Certainly not shooting stars as appear faintly on two previous frames.

Southern sky, travel North to South.

5 minutes later a somewhat brighter flare a little further towards the west.

Southern sky, travel South to North.

Crop of above. I've kept the plane in the crop for distance comparison.
