Sunday night in North Devon

Shallow Cu clouds dissipating towards sunset, had a look for the 3 planets in the W. Caught a brief glimps of Venus, but not mars or mercury. Hurried home with the last of the light and got the Celestron C6S out and set up. Got darker and clearer! Noctilucent clouds about 2130-2200. Saw lots of satellites and a good few meteors.

Good look at the 1st 1/4 moon and Jupiter, settled down to look at M31 and M32, then took a bit of time to find M33 in Triangulum, just about worth it in a 6", then the "spiral" cluster M34.

Bits of cirrus getting in the way but REALLY clear, counted about 15 stars within the Great Square of Pegasus naked eye, so gin clear conditions. Dewed up really quickly so put the dewshield on, haven't much faith in it but eventually it seemd to work. Spent the rest of the night looking at Casseopia, dozens of DSOs, am now trying to work out what I was looking at, and just scanning the Milky Way with bins lying back - awesome! Best night in ages. Could've stayed out all night but a bit antisocial and all that. Enthusiasm levels are right back up!!!

:salute:
