May be useful...for open Solar events

Maybe a sticky.

Wilstire Astro are (weather permitting) holding an open event to view the Sun, however, we are getting every single person who does so to sign this form (word doc contents below, format to your own taste)

I thought this kind of thing may be useful for anyone else holding a public event.. (we are doing a prize draw as well to win some books, so maybe omit that part).

Viewing the Sun WITHOUT PROPER EQUIPMENT is very dangerous and must only be done with experts present. The equipment we use is specifically designed for Solar observing and tested during manufacture and before use. Do not attempt Solar Observing from home with any optical aid (binoculars/telescopes or cameras) and please ensure children do not attempt to do this even briefly. VIEWING THE SUN DIRECTLY USING ANY NON SPECIALIST OPTICAL AID WILL CAUSE IMMEDIATE BLINDNESS ANY DAMAGE DONE IS PERMANENT AND CANNOT BE CORRECTED Wiltshire Astronomical Society and/or Seend Village Fete will not be held responsible for eye damage caused away from this site caused by improper use of non specialist equipment You will only be allowed to use the equipment here and enter the prize draw if you agree and acknowledge this warning
